These Terms of Service govern your use of Takt, including our website, web app, browser extensions, mobile apps, and related services (the “Service”). Takt is currently operated by its individual founder. In these Terms, “Takt,” “we,” and “us” refer to that operator.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential.
2. The Service
Takt helps you capture supported sources and turn them into searchable, structured notes. Features may change, be unavailable, or be offered only on particular plans. We may make reasonable changes to maintain, secure, or improve the Service.
3. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Takt, including source URLs, uploads, transcripts, notes, and instructions (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service you request.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit Your Content and to ask Takt to process it. Takt does not give you rights in third-party source material. You must comply with applicable law and the terms of the source platform; do not use Takt to access private, paywalled, restricted, or otherwise unauthorized content.
4. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the Service; interfere with its operation or security; bypass rate limits or access controls; probe or reverse engineer it except where law permits; use it unlawfully or to infringe others’ rights; or submit malware, deceptive material, or content you are not permitted to process. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, or others, or to comply with law.
5. AI-generated output
Captures, transcripts, summaries, search results, and chat responses may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review output before relying on it or sharing it. The Service is not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
6. Paid plans and billing
If you purchase a paid plan, you authorize the relevant payment provider to charge the price and taxes shown at checkout. Subscription details, renewal, cancellation, and any trial terms are shown before you purchase. Stripe processes web payments and Apple processes applicable in-app purchases; their terms may also apply. Consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
7. Availability, termination, and your data
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete individual content in the Service where that feature is available. To request account deletion, email us from the address associated with your account. We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these Terms, security risk, fraud, or legal requirement and will give notice where reasonably practical.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Takt is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the Service.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as through the Service or by email. The updated Terms take effect on the stated date. If you continue using the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms.
