Terms of use.

Last updated August 19, 2026.

These Terms of Use govern your use of Takt, including our website, web app, browser extensions, mobile apps, and related services (the “Service”).

Takt is operated by Elias Gummesson in Sweden (“Takt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

If you download or use Takt through the Apple App Store, your use of the iOS application is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These Terms govern your use of the Takt service, account, features, and content.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential.

2. The Service

Takt helps you capture supported sources and turn them into searchable, structured notes and other AI-assisted outputs.

Features may change, become unavailable, or be offered only on particular plans. We may make reasonable changes to the Service to maintain, secure, develop, or improve it.

We do not guarantee that every source, website, file type, platform, or third-party service will always remain supported.

3. Your content and permissions

You retain ownership of the content you submit to Takt, including source URLs, uploads, transcripts, notes, instructions, and other material you provide (“Your Content”).

You give us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service you request.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit Your Content and ask Takt to process it.

Takt does not grant you any rights in third-party content or source material.

You are responsible for complying with applicable law and the terms of any third-party platform or service you use. You may not use Takt to access, copy, process, or distribute private, paywalled, restricted, copyrighted, or otherwise unauthorized material where you do not have the necessary rights or permission.

4. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the Service.

In particular, you may not:

  • interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the Service;
  • bypass or attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, usage safeguards, or technical restrictions;
  • use automated systems, scripts, bots, or other methods to generate abusive or excessive usage;
  • probe, scan, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • use the Service unlawfully or to infringe the rights of others;
  • submit malware, malicious code, deceptive material, or content you are not permitted to process;
  • use the Service in a way that could materially harm Takt, other users, or third parties.

We may temporarily restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties, prevent fraud or abuse, or comply with applicable law.

5. Unlimited features and fair use

Some paid-plan features may be described as unlimited.

“Unlimited” means that there is no fixed usage allowance for normal personal use.

To protect the Service from automated, abusive, fraudulent, or unusually intensive use, we may apply reasonable technical safeguards, rate limits, usage thresholds, or temporary restrictions.

These safeguards are intended to prevent misuse rather than limit legitimate personal use.

If a safeguard restricts your normal personal use, you may contact us for review. If we determine that the activity represents legitimate personal use, we may restore or adjust your access without requiring an additional payment.

We may take action against usage that appears automated, abusive, fraudulent, commercial at abnormal scale, or otherwise inconsistent with normal use of the Service.

6. AI-generated output

Takt may use artificial intelligence and automated systems to generate or assist with captures, transcripts, summaries, notes, classifications, search results, chat responses, and other outputs.

AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or incorrect.

You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on, publishing, sharing, or acting on them.

Takt does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, or other professional advice, and AI-generated output should not be treated as a substitute for qualified professional advice.

7. Paid plans, subscriptions, and billing

Takt may offer paid plans, including recurring subscriptions.

The applicable price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, and any trial or introductory offer will be shown before you purchase.

Apple App Store purchases

For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, payment is processed by Apple and charged to your Apple Account.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the applicable renewal date.

You can manage or cancel an App Store subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.

Billing, renewals, refunds, cancellations, and other payment matters relating to App Store purchases are also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and policies.

Web purchases

For subscriptions purchased directly through Takt on the web, payments may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider on our behalf.

The applicable price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation options, and any trial terms will be shown at checkout.

Unlimited features

If a paid plan includes features described as unlimited, those features are subject to the fair-use safeguards described in Section 5.

Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, waived, or restricted.

8. Availability, account termination, and your data

You may stop using the Service at any time.

You may delete individual content where that feature is available.

If you have a Takt account, you may initiate deletion of your account through the account-deletion functionality provided in the Service.

Account deletion may result in deletion of Your Content and other associated account data, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

If you experience problems deleting your account, contact us at support@trytakt.com.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for a material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, security risks, legal requirements, or conduct that materially threatens the Service or other users.

Where reasonably practical and legally permitted, we will provide notice.

9. Third-party services

Takt may interact with, link to, or process content from third-party services, websites, platforms, APIs, or applications.

Those services are operated independently of Takt and may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, content, security, policies, or operation of third-party services.

Features that depend on third-party services may stop working or change if those services modify or discontinue access.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available, or that all data or AI-generated output will always be accurate or complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Takt is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from or relating to your use of the Service.

Consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate, for example through the Service, on our website, or by email.

The updated Terms will take effect on the date stated in the updated version.

Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms where permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.

12. Contact
