Privacy policy.

Last updated September 8, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Takt handles personal information when you use our website, web app, browser extensions, mobile apps, and related services. Takt is operated by Elias Gummesson, its founder, based in Lund, Sweden. In this policy, “Takt,” “we,” and “us” refer to that operator. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at elias@trytakt.com.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated as you use Takt. This may include account information such as your email address and name; profile settings and avatar; source URLs; uploaded files; extracted text, transcripts, notes, tags, collections, search history, and chat messages; support requests, feedback, and bug reports; and subscription status and payment-provider customer identifiers. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.

We also collect technical and security information, such as IP address, browser or device information, authentication and request logs, and records used to prevent abuse and enforce service limits.

2. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide captures, notes, transcription, search, and chat features; process payments; respond to you; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with legal obligations; and understand and improve the Service. Where applicable, we process information to perform our contract with you, comply with law, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, or with your consent.

3. Service providers and AI processing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only when needed to provide the Service, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer. Our service providers may include Supabase for authentication and data storage; Google and Apple for sign-in; Cloudflare and Railway for infrastructure; Stripe and Apple for payments; OpenAI for embeddings and other AI features; Groq for audio transcription; Firecrawl for webpage extraction; and Beehiiv for newsletters you choose to receive.

When you request an AI, extraction, transcription, search, or chat feature, we may send the relevant source content and instructions to the provider needed to perform that feature. Those providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy notices.

4. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers. You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain account information and Your Content while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete eligible content in the Service. You can initiate deletion of your account and associated personal data from the account settings in Takt. If you cannot access your account, email us from the email address connected to it for help. We may retain limited information where necessary for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise a right, contact us at the email above; we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

7. Cookies and similar technology

The landing site currently uses essential browser storage, including session storage used to preserve a free-tool result within the current browser tab. We do not currently use optional advertising or traffic-analytics cookies on the landing site. If we introduce optional cookies or similar tracking, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Takt is not directed to children under 16. Do not use the Service or submit personal information if you are under the age at which you can lawfully consent to data processing where you live.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date. Questions or requests? Email elias@trytakt.com.
