This explains how the product works in practice. It complements, but does not replace, Takt's privacy policy.
Your Takt library is account-scoped by default. Takt processes the sources and files you choose to save so it can provide notes, search, and AI features. A person or AI client does not receive access to your library unless you explicitly share content or authorize a connection.
What Takt stores to provide the product
Depending on what you use, Takt may store account details, source URLs, uploaded files, extracted text, transcripts, notes, tags, collections, search history, and chat messages. That is the material required to save a source, make it searchable, and return it to you later. The full list and legal details are in the privacy policy.
When source material is processed by AI or extraction providers
Takt only sends the content relevant to the feature you ask it to perform. Saving a webpage, transcribing audio, analyzing an image, generating a note, embedding text for search, or asking a library question can require relevant source content and instructions to be processed by the provider that performs that task.
Takt uses service providers for infrastructure and product features, including storage and authentication, webpage extraction, AI features, and transcription. Those providers process information to deliver the requested feature under their own applicable terms and privacy notices. See the privacy policy for the current provider categories.
What is private, shared, and connected

Connected AI clients: what they can and cannot do
Takt's MCP connection is read-only. A connected client can search notes, list note metadata and collections, retrieve a note, gather relevant excerpts, and use Ask Takt if you invoke that tool. It cannot create, edit, move, or delete notes through Takt MCP.
The client receives a Takt-issued access token from the browser authorization flow—not your underlying database credentials. Requests run as the Takt account you authorize. Read the full MCP security and privacy guide before connecting a third-party AI client.
Practical choices you control
- Choose what you save to Takt.
- Choose whether to use AI analysis, transcription, search, or chat features.
- Choose whether to share an entry or collection with another person.
- Choose whether to connect a third-party AI client through MCP.
- Delete eligible content and initiate account deletion from Takt settings.
Important limits
No online service can promise absolute security. Use a strong, unique password and connect only trusted AI clients or workspaces. If you no longer need an MCP connection, clear or revoke it in that client's settings.
