Takt MCP
Connect Takt to ChatGPT.
Give ChatGPT access to the sources you saved, with a per-account Takt authorization flow.
ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers, including Takt. Create a custom app with Takt's endpoint, authenticate in the Takt window, then enable the app in the chat where you want to use your library.
Before you start
Custom MCP availability depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. At publication, full MCP is available for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise/Edu; Pro accounts can use remote MCP connections with read/fetch permissions in Developer mode. Workspace administrators can restrict custom apps.
Set up Takt in ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT settings. If you have access, enable Developer mode in Apps or Advanced Settings.
- Go to Apps and select Create.
- Name the app Takt and provide this remote MCP endpoint:
https://mcp.trytakt.com/mcp
- Select OAuth when ChatGPT asks for an authentication method, then select Scan Tools.
- Complete the Takt sign-in and authorization window. Use the same credentials as app.trytakt.com.
- Create or enable the app. It may first appear as a draft in workspace settings.
- In a new chat, select Takt from the available apps or tools, then ask it to search your library.
Use it safely
Takt MCP provides read-only library access. It can search, retrieve notes, list collections, and gather evidence; it cannot change a note. Still, an AI client can see the note content it retrieves, so only authorize tools and workspaces you trust. See security and privacy for details.
If setup is unavailable
If you do not see Developer mode, Create, or Apps, your plan or workspace may not have custom MCP apps enabled. Ask the workspace administrator to review custom app settings, or use Takt with another supported client such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor.
