Takt MCP
Bring your saved sources into the AI tool you already use.
Takt MCP connects your private library to compatible AI clients, so they can retrieve the sources you have saved when they are relevant.
Takt MCP is a remote, read-only connection between your Takt library and an AI client. After you sign in, the client can search your notes, retrieve relevant source material, and use a compact evidence pack as context for your work.
The endpoint is https://mcp.trytakt.com/mcp. Add it as a remote Streamable HTTP (or HTTP) MCP server, then complete Takt's browser sign-in when your client asks you to authenticate.
What Takt MCP can do

Searching, retrieving notes, listing collections, and gathering evidence are included with library access. ask_takt is different: it runs Takt's own multi-note synthesis and uses the account's monthly Ask Takt allowance.
Supported clients
Use the client-specific guide for exact current setup steps. Each guide uses the same Takt endpoint and ends with the same browser authorization flow.
Privacy model
Takt MCP is read-only and account-scoped. A connected client can retrieve the notes available to the Takt account you authorize, but it cannot create, edit, delete, or save notes through this connection.
You sign in to Takt in the authorization window. The client receives an MCP access token from Takt, not your underlying database credentials. Requests are evaluated as the authorized Takt account. Learn more in the security and privacy guide.
Check that it worked
- Save a source to Takt if your library is empty.
- Ask the connected assistant: “Search my Takt library for …”
- Ask it to name the note or source it used before relying on an answer.
If the client shows the tools but calls fail, open its MCP settings and re-run Takt authentication. If you signed up through Google and do not have a Takt password, use “Forgot password” in the Takt authorization window to set one.
